Kapunda’s Mr Ross Vogt is a living piece of South Australian history and can be attributed to numerous community projects in Kapunda.
Mr Vogt has undertaken many projects for the community, even if he receives no benefit from them.
He was a driving force for the opening of the Kapunda Shed, a resource he does not use because he has a shed built only two years ago.
It was Mr Vogt’s motion to council that resulted in the Kapunda swimming pool, even though he can’t swim.
He was also behind the creation of the Kapunda playground when he was 17.
“I was too old to use the equipment and too young to have children who could use it,” Mr Vogt said.
Mr Vogt’s passion for the community and desire to see local people happy is why he allows people to look through his home full of historical treasures free of charge.
