Fabrics n Things ‘Mega Sale’ draws a crowd

It was supersized in name and also in number on Saturday, with the Country Fabrics n Things Mega sale drawing a large crowd at the Eudunda Agricultural Show Hall.

In August, owner Margaret Doecke announced she was closing the doors of her Eudunda shop, and held Saturday's sale to sell the remaining stock, with shoppers choosing from fabrics, haberdashery, yarn and maybe even a sewing machine.

Margaret said she was overwhelmed at the amount of support the sale received from the community, saying the team was "absolutely flat-out" and at one point had three people cutting fabrics.

She added that some people thought there may have been a football match on with the amount of cars in the car park!

In addition to the sale, an afternoon tea was also held to fundraise for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, raising around $900 for the cause.
