The 2024 Eudunda Show has taken home the Regional Council of Goyder’s Community Event of the Year for the Eudunda ward.

A day that was filled with fun, feathers and rooster-crowing, last year’s show certainly showcased a wide variety of talent in many fields from across the region - along with proving that Eudunda locals are good sports! 

Eudunda show committee president, Garry Schutz, told The Leader that the award was a testament to the amount of people who put their time and effort in to making everything come together on show day.

“I thought it was very deserving for the whole committee, and even the outside community, it’s not just the committee that makes the show happen on the day, it’s the whole community, so it’s a pat on the back for everyone really,” Garry said.

He also reflected back on the day, saying how the committee had all received a number of positive comments on the show, particularly in the week after the event took place.

Particularly, these were in relation to the changes made to the timetable and judging, with 99 per cent of the judging happening the day before the show, the stewards and conveners were able to relax and enjoy the day more.

Garry said the team is already working towards implementing this plan again for 2025, as well as finding new and exciting ways to make the show bigger and better than the last.
