Police are urging motorists to heed the road safety message after the death of a Nuriootpa couple on Monday.
Seventy one year old Lawrie Grocke and his wife, Sharyn, 65 died when their Jeep 4WD and a semi-trailer collided at the intersection of Belvidere Road and the Truro to Kapunda Road, Ebenezer just before 9 a.m.
Their deaths contribute to a horror weekend on the state’s rural roads where four people died in crashes.
Barossa Chief Inspector Alex Zimmermann said Monday’s crash was a terrible incident, the cause of which is still being examined. However, he indicated from talking to witnesses, the vehicle entered the intersection at speed.
