He’s been playing for Tanunda Hockey Club since he was just eight years old, now Tanunda’s Trev Hongell has reached his 400th game milestone.
Trev clocked up his 400th senior game on Sunday night, but admits he’s played many more games because of his junior days.
“I just joined in juniors and have played ever since,” said Trev.
Trev, whose family is now heavily involved in hockey, explained that many of his friends also play hockey and it’s a highlight getting out on the weekend to play with them.
He did add that there’s been a lot of cold, late nights out playing hockey, but it’s been ‘good fun’.
When asked how he felt reaching the 400 senior games, Trev said, “It just doesn’t seem like I have. Doesn’t seem that long ago since I started playing seniors.
“After the game we all got together and had some beers to celebrate.”
Trev is the first to meet this milestone for the Tanunda Hockey Club.
