One of the region’s youngest drivers working their way towards obtaining their P licence is calling on motorists to focus as they drive over the Easter holiday season.
Chiana Hurn has been able to increase her driving experience through the region’s Drive My Future initiative and hopes to be able to gain her P licence before she completes year 12 this year.
Chiana was among the first to be able to tap into the programme, having undertaken four lessons with a qualified driving instructor before being mentored by a volunteer.
Her message to those driving over the Easter break is to stay safe.
“Be careful and watch for all the cars and make sure that when you come up to places put your foot on the brake and be under the speed limit a little bit,” said Chiana.
