Rotary give $12,500 to SA CWA Emergency Aid Fund

1 min read

The SA Country Women’s Association Emergency Aid Fund will benefit from a $12,500 donation from The Rotary Club of Barossa Valley, representing profit from the club’s annual wine auction.

Mrs Lyn Brew, SA CWA Deputy State President proudly accepted the cheque from club members, Lisa Akeroyd, Sue Graetz, president and Roxanne Canning at the club’s meeting held at Tanunda Clubhouse last Thursday night.

Speaking at the meeting, Rotarian Lisa Akeroyd said the club had been fundraising for Australian Farms to help them as part of the Emergency Aid.

She added that fellow Rotarian Peter Thomas suggested that in the case of CWA all the money raised will help struggling farmers and so it was an easy choice of where to donate the funds.

Lisa added, saying, “We (Rotary) know the money will go out to the right people.”
