Council believe a coordinated regional response is the best way to reach people in need of support, as well as those offering it.

This will be a community-led initiative that makes people the priority and responds directly to the specific needs of the community.

With community collaboration The Barossa Council Mayor, Mr Bim Lange believes we can reduce stigma around mental health, bring education and training to the region, and direct resources to where they are most needed. He said they are very fortunate to have support and funding from the Office of the Premier’s Advocate for Suicide Prevention to facilitate this initiative.

The forum will be held at the Nuriootpa Office of The Barossa Council on Monday, May 13 at 6.30 p.m. Please register attendance by May 6 to spforum@barossa.sa.gov.au,  phone 8563 8444 or sms 0400 439 762.
