New home for Community Helpers

1 min read

Community Helpers have a place of their own after their new warehouse was officially opened last Friday.

Mr Tony Pasin, Federal Member for Barker cut the ribbon to mark the huge move to 167-169 Murray Street, Nuriootpa.

The move co-incides with the organisation’s 20th anniversary.

The development has been made possible by $400,000 of Federal Government funding under the Building Better Region’s Fund - Infrastructure Projects Stream.

This is on top of $150,000 from the State Government by Fund My Neighbourhood.

In early 2016 the committee at Community Helpers initiated a meeting to investigate getting their own premises.

Their former warehouse premises at 35 Railway Terrace was becoming dangerous, lacked basic facilities and the space too small.
