The shared use path between Gawler and Tanunda will be named the Barossa Trail following Tuesday's meeting of The Barossa Council.
It removes the current naming, The Jack Bobridge Track which the infrastructure was named after at the completion of its opening.
Elected members agreed to the name change after CEO, Mr Martin McCarthy presented a report.
“The track has significant community and visitor use and as such has considerable connection to Brand Barossa,” he said.
“There is also significant marketing and other materials branded.” Mr McCarthy said a renaming provides an opportunity to rebrand the track.
In addition to a name change, elected members also agreed to approve a budget increase of $15,000 to implement the renaming signage and marketing collateral.
