Meet and Eat celebrates ten years

1 min read

Meet and Eat celebrated its 10th birthday last Wednesday with a special luncheon at the Angaston Uniting Church.

Just like any other Meet and Eat event held on the first Wednesday of every month, this event was in high attendance and well received by all.

The ‘Angaston Combined Churches’ includes St Hugh’s Anglican Church, Zion Lutheran Church and the Angaston Uniting Church, all in Angaston of course.

Pastor Vernon Kleinig, retired minister from Zion Lutheran Church, was involved with the very first Meet and Eat.

“I am so thrilled this is still going after 10 years,” said Pastor Kleinig.

“Something to last as long as this in a community is amazing.”

Meet and Eat started 10 years ago at the Zion Lutheran Church as an ‘umbrella’ under Lutheran Community Care, aimed to help clients who needed emergency relief and a friendly face.

This idea then evolved to all three churches who each work together and take equal responsibility with the events.
