A Tanunda CFS truck led a cavalcade of Mazda MX-5s through Murray Street last week, turning heads and adding some extra colour to the town.
The grand parade was an extra special treat for Tanunda CFS volunteer, Mr Brian Agars who bought himself a 2017 Mazda MX-5 last year, describing it as “his dream car”.
Although not a participant in the MX-5 Owner Club’s thirteenth “NATMEET” that made Barossa its home for nearly a week, Brian was thrilled to see more than 70 of his favourite vehicles tour through as he manned the pedestrian crossing to ensure the cars had free run to Tanunda Oval for the event’s “Concours d’ Elegance” where participants could choose to have their cars judged.
It was a sight to behold for the Tanunda firie and avid car racing enthusiast.
“I just like them. I like a good sports car. You can race them around the track and these things have a good reputation,” said Brian.
Cars were spotted in Nuriootpa, Greenock, Angaston, Bethany and Seppeltsfield as more than 140 participants drove around to experience vineyards in full autumn glory.
