Kapunda girl has the X Factor

2 min read

Mr Ken Adams, Kapunda, is watching the X Factor Australia with pride after his daughter, Louise, successfully made it to the top 12 in the nation wide competition.

Ken said that he encouraged Louise to start performing a number of years ago, she went and played in Tamworth and was quite successful there.

“I am very proud. If someone is talented, they should share their talents with other people,” said Ken.

“We all feel she is going to give it her best because that is the only way she can do it. Everything in her life she gives her whole best.

“Whether she wins it or not is not the important thing. It’s whether she is enjoying what she is doing.”

Louise was able to turn heads with her audition performance of Feeling Good by Nina Simone and is now under the mentoring guide of James Blunt, an international British singer and judge on the X Factor Australia.

Born and raised in Kapunda, Louise currently lives in Mount Gambier with her husband, Andrew Burchell, and her one-year-old daughter, Frankie.

Ken’s wife, Anne, is over in Sydney taking care of Frankie while Louise is developing her sound and perfecting her rehearsals.

Louise says the whole experience so far has been amazing, especially the support she is getting from the Kapunda, Gawler and Barossa regions.

“I am slightly overwhelmed and humbled by everyone’s support. When I had put on Fringe shows in Adelaide, a huge contingent of people were from Kapunda,” says Louise.

“I am very lucky, I still call Kapunda my home town. I am lucky to always have that support. It’s quite amazing and I hope everyone knows how much I appreciate their support.

“I am not sure a lot of people could say this, but I have two fantastic home regions supporting me.”

Louise said she grew up with a very musical family. Her grandfather, Andrew Nesbitt, was one of her biggest inspirations when she was younger.

Louse said it was hard to pinpoint her style of music since she has many different influences.

Her grandparents played Celtic music, blues and jazz, while at home she listened to The Beatles, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones and Pearl Jam since her old siblings had monopoly over the TV and stereo.
