House fire near Greenock

An estimated $350,000 damage bill has been left after fire gutted an unoccupied home near Greenock last Thursday night.

Just before 11 pm, emergency services, which included six CFS crews from the Barossa and Light districts, were called to the house fire, located on the Sturt Highway between Greenock and Nuriootpa. 

When crews arrived, the house was fully ablaze and crews needed to undertake defensive firefighting to protect surrounding assets. 

Crews were still at the scene early Friday morning along with SA Police and SA Ambulance, before Fire Cause Investigators arrived to determine the cause of the fire which was not believed to be suspicious.
