Hope for Kapunda child care centre

1 min read

The Kapunda Child Care and Early Learning Centre had been handed a lifeline with operational funding helping to keep the centre open for a little while.

Despite last week announcing the imminent closure of the centre, staff have been working closely with the community to keep the doors open longer.

There is renewed confidence the centre will remain open, with a new business plan to be put to parents in a community meeting tonight at 5.30 p.m.

Petitions of support for the centre have been placed in local businesses over the past week, and community members have filled many pages with their signatures.

Parents and community members will be able to hear about the plan, as well as voice their own suggestions with staff and owner, Ms Judy Atkinson available.

Ms Atkinson said funding from the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations has given the centre a boost.
