Specsavers Nuriootpa has launched the OCT, a new machine that has the ability to detect changes in layers of the retina not normally visible to clinicians.
It is now being used in every bulk-billed eye health check at Specsavers Nuriootpa.
The new and innovative OCT scanning device is allowing optometrists to take detailed three-dimensional images of eyes, which can help detect early signs of a range of eye conditions including glaucoma and diabetes.
In the past month alone, the technology has helped Specsavers Nuriootpa optometrists detect 64 locals with signs of eye conditions, all of which have been referred to specialists for diagnosis and treatment.
