A car crash involving an Angaston mother and her young son has prompted calls to improve the safety of Barossa intersections.
Leanne Standing, her three-year-old son Harrison and two others were travelling from Angaston to Nuriootpa last Saturday when their car was T-boned at the Angaston Road/Stockwell Road intersection.
An interstate driver had not seen the stop sign and ploughed into the side of their car, which spun and ended up on the other side of the road.
Astonished all passengers walked away uninjured, Leanne is calling for a review of the local intersections, saying we shouldn’t wait for a fatality.
Leanne said converting the intersection to a roundabout, implementing rumble strips before the stop sign or simply marking the road leading up to the intersection could help.
