The Ultimate Beard Shave fundraising event for Novita Children’s Services was held at the Roseworthy Hotel last Friday and was very successful, raising $3,700 on the night of the event, putting them well and truly over the $5,000 target they had originally set.
The team at Ultimate Engineering accomplished far more than what they originally thought.
As promised, both Fulton Hogan and Orora matched the $5,000 once the team reached the target.
Although the total money raised is continuing to go as more donations are still coming in, the team have estimated the end amount will come to $17,000.
This is almost double the amount they raised last year and the fundraising for Novita has not even officially opened yet for this year.
The event had around sixty people come and support the guys, all who are now very beardless.
Ultimate Engineering Large Project Manager, Steve Argent said that they really had no idea of how many people would come to the event and it was great to see this many people come out to watch the fun.
The first official shave was at 5 p.m., where the guys went up in pairs to have their treasured facial hair shaved off.
There were also two extra men who stepped up on the night and volunteered for the shave.
One of these men managed to raise $350 alone just to have his moustache shaved.
