Barossa’s CFS cadets learn new skills

A Region 2 (Upper Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula and Lower North) CFS Cadet Field Day was held on June 2.

This event is held every two years at the different group locations in Region 2.

This year the Northern Barossa Group, which includes the Angaston, Nuriootpa, Tanunda and Truro brigades, hosted the event at Nuriootpa Oval.

The day consisted of cadets and cadet co-ordinators/leaders splitting into smaller groups before rotating through a series of exercises and informative sessions all related to the SA Country Fire Service.

The exercises included hose and pumping drills, an SA Power Network information session, hazmat exercises, a SAAS appliance session, a thermal camera exercise, a fire investigation and behaviour.
