Vintage Festival volunteers help events run like a charm

With Barossa Vintage Festival fast approaching, there has been a call out for volunteers to help with the exciting schedule of events from April 19-23.

Ashleigh Hogan, Membership and Events Officer at Barossa Australia shared with The Leader, “We put a community call out for volunteers, whilst also contacting previous volunteers.

“It’s an easy process, with volunteers able to apply through an online form and we then allocate them to different events.

“Ninety per cent of volunteers are locals from the Barossa region, with a few university students volunteering as part of their degree.

“We have received significant sponsorship from Treasury Wine Estates, and through a partnership agreement have provided a significant number of volunteers.

“They have been allocated in groups, so they’re going to have a good day with their friends.

“We have also sourced people to help from Volunteers SA.

“But we could always do with more volunteers to help streamline the day.

There are four hallmark events that require volunteers, the Ziegenmarkt, held in Goat Square on Thursday 20 April, a live produce and livestock market; the Vintage Festival Parade from Tanunda to Nuriootpa, held on Saturday April 22; the Scarecrows; and the Vintage Festival Ball, held on Saturday April 22.

There will be a variety of different activities and we will need assistance with set-up, the running of the events, and pack down.
