Experience the sheer force of the Hill & Son Grand Organ one more time as part of the Barossa Vintage Festival, before the commencement of construction works at Barossa Regional Gallery.
Experience the historic 1877 instrument in action at “Music for Grand Organ”, played by Dr Joshua Van Konkelenberg, one of Australia’s finest organists and a Peter Lehmann Arts and Education Trust recipient, with a program of magnificent music for all ages.
Feel the mighty organ’s thrilling thunder, relax with its tranquil tones, be tantalised by its tickly tendencies.
While the “Music for Grand Organ” was originally scheduled to be held at St John’s Lutheran Church on its JE Dodd organ, delays in upcoming construction works at the Barossa Regional Gallery have meant that the Hill & Son will be heard one more time.
Previously in the Adelaide Town Hall, this instrument has been meticulously restored to original 1877 condition and is notable for its impressive looks and outstanding grand sound.
With three manuals and pedals, 37 stops and 2,260 pipes, the evening is set to be fantastic, fascinating and fun.
