Good Shepherd embraces the future with float entry

1 min read

Final touches are being completed for the Good Shepherd Lutheran School’s float for this year’s Barossa Vintage Festival Parade.

The float is designed around the school’s purpose statement, ‘Embracing the future with confidence’ and is a visual representation of the launched Education Blueprint.

Each of the school’s four core values has been incorporated into the design.

“Festival attendees will see these values brought to life through vibrant imagery and student participation, showcasing how the school is not just preparing students academically, but nurturing well-rounded individuals ready to meet tomorrow's challenges with optimism and resilience,” said Administration Assistant Danette Mifflin.

Sarah Briones has been taking charge of the creation of the float, which will feature a large set of hands as its centrepiece.

Some upcoming projects will also be featured on the float, including a toy dog representing the school’s new wellbeing service dog, that will be joining next term. There will also be capes added which are due to be part of a new school initiative to reward students who display the school values.

School staff, students, and parents have all been working together to complete the float over the past five weeks. “I like doing the drawing and painting,” said student Piper John. “The dog is the coolest part.”

Some elements of the float are currently on display at the school, along with their scarecrows, until the Festival Parade on April 26.
