Nuriootpa’s Barb Burgemeister was nearly lost for words after hearing she had won a brand new car.
Answering the phone call Monday morning, the great grand-mother laughed with delight when she was told her name was drawn out of the barrel as the lucky winner of a sparkling new Hyundai Accent in The Leader shop local campaign.
“I can’t believe it!” said Barb.
“It’s a good birthday present! I just turned 70 last Wednesday.”
She waited until husband, Trevor came home before telling him of her win and that afternoon, they went to see Barb’s brand new four door hatch parked in the shed of The Leader office in Angaston.
