Tell us the story of your business? Who are the people behind your business, what makes you proud to be a business owner?

“Lyndoch Motors, established over 70 years ago by Claude and Jean Ahrens, embodies determination, community spirit, and excellence. From the outset, Claude’s handyman skills and Jean’s customer service acumen built a reputation for resolving mechanical issues.

“The legacy continues through sons Graham and Steve, and grandson Darren Bitter.

“The owners take pride not only in the business’s longevity but in the enduring spirit of overcoming challenges, with an entire team of dedicated staff sharing these values.

“Lyndoch Motors is more than a repair shop; it’s a testament to the Ahrens family’s resilience and dedication. The emphasis on a team of dedicated staff underscores a commitment to exceptional service, making each customer feel special.

“Today, Lyndoch Motors symbolises community, expertise, and customer-centric service, weaving a narrative of family, perseverance, and an unwavering dedication to serving the Lyndoch community.”

In your opinion, why is it important now more than ever for locals to shop in the Barossa?

“It is more crucial than ever for locals to support businesses in the Barossa for several reasons.

“While the world may be shrinking due to globalisation, the significance of local businesses remains paramount for the well-being and vibrancy of the community.

“In essence, the importance of shopping locally extends far beyond individual transactions.

“It is a choice that directly influences the overall well-being and cohesion of the Barossa community. By supporting local businesses, residents contribute to the growth and sustainability of their community, ensuring that it remains a vibrant, supportive, and culturally rich place to live.”

How does your business benefit the community?

“Lyndoch Motors goes beyond being a service provider; it actively engages with and invests in the community it serves.

“Through support for sporting clubs, community groups, events, and youth initiatives, the business strives to create a positive and lasting impact.

“This commitment not only enhances the overall quality of life in the community but also reinforces the notion that Lyndoch Motors is a socially responsible and integral part of the local fabric.”

What do you pride yourself on? What separates your business from all of the others?

“At Lyndoch Motors, we take immense pride in being more than just a business—we are a team of local specialists dedicated to understanding our customers on a personal level. What sets us apart from the rest is our commitment to forging genuine connections with each individual who walks through our doors.

What is the single biggest challenge that your business faces today?

“The single biggest challenge is the ongoing need for expansion in our workforce. While we are proud to already have a tremendous team of dedicated individuals, the growing demand for our services and the desire to enhance the customer experience necessitate the continuous search for additional staff.”
