Nuriootpa Red Cross branch held a special luncheon last Thursday at the Holy Trinity Church Hall, Nuriootpa.
There were over 50 people in attendance, with ladies travelling from Gawler, Tanunda, Lyndoch and Eudunda Red Cross branches.
Ms Sonya Thorn, a naturopath from Angaston was guest speaker on the day.
Ms Edna Andretzke, Secretary of the Nuriootpa Red Cross branch, explained that it was ‘a really good lunch’ with everyone being happy and enjoying themselves.
Ms Leonie Noble, President added that it was a ‘pleasant suprise’ with how many ladies had come through to visit.
Nuriootpa Red Cross branch now has 29 members, after two have recently passed away - Edna Jericho and Phillis Boehm.
Active members attend their meetings with an attendance of 12 members.
Many members are aged and several are in nursing homes.
At meetings Nuriootpa Red Cross always have a trading table to raise funds and also have the annual luncheon inviting members from other branches and friends.
