The Leader’s fourth AFL footy tipping competition kicks off next week with our new and old guest tipsters ready to lock heads over the 2019 AFL season.
For this year’s competition, the prize pool has risen to $4,500 with the likelihood of winning a prize very high.
The Leader has teamed up with Phil Hoffmann Travel Barossa Valley, who donated a $1,000 travel voucher to form the first prize.
FOOTY TIPPING 2019 Terms & Conditions
1.Only one entry per person and NO photocopies will be accepted.
2.NO NEW tipsters will be accepted to join into the competition after round 3.
3.Tips must be submitted to a designated drop off point by 12 noon Friday – except for Round 1 at 12 noon Thursday, March 21; Round 2 at 12 noon Thursday, March 28; Round 3 at 12 noon Thursday, April 4; Round 4 at 12 noon Thursday, April 11; Round 5 at 12 noon Thursday, April 18; Round 6 at 12 noon Wednesday April 24; Round 13 at 12 noon Thursday, June 13; Round 14 at 12 noon Thursday, June 20; and Round 15 at 12 noon Thursday, June 27.
4.Tipsters will be awarded 1 point for each correctly tipped game.
5.A tipster cannot select a draw. A draw is treated as a win for all participants regardless of which team they selected or were allocated by the competition’s default tips.
6.Any tipster who picks all 9 winners in a round will be awarded 1 bonus point (or all 6 winners in Round 12, 13 or 14).
7.The weekly winner will be the person who tips all 9 correct winners for that round and is the closest to the margin. (Or determined by the participant who is eligible under paragraph 6). The margin is always based on the first game of each round.
8.In the event of two or more tipsters selecting the same 9 winners, the winning margin indicated will be used as a tie-breaker. If two or more participants are still equal winners under paragraph 7, then the winner will be determined by the participants total margin scores.
9.If no tipster selects all 9 winners the weekly prize will jackpot until won.
10.Participants who fail to enter their tips will be allocated the default tips of all AWAY teams for the round with a default predicted winning margin of 49.
11.After missing THREE consecutive rounds the tipster will be eliminated fromthe competition.
12.If at the end of the season two or more tipsters have equal points that will qualify for a prize, the winner will be decided by the total margin score.
13.Footy Tipping runs for the minor rounds only.
14.The Leader newspaper will not accept responsibility for late or lost entries.
