Barker set to benefit from attracting international visitors

Barker set to benefit from attracting international visitors

Wineries, cellar doors and tourism operators in Barker are being urged to join a new national effort to attract more international wine tourists to Australia.

Federal Member for Barker, Mr Tony Pasin encouraged local businesses to apply to the Australian Government’s $5 million International Wine Tourism Competitive Grants programme and work together to develop unique and innovative wine tourism experiences in the Barossa.

“With the support of the Coalition Government, Australia’s wine industry is transforming its marketing efforts and this presents opportunities for local businesses in the Barossa,” Mr Pasin said.

“These grants will help fund wine tourism marketing campaigns, wine events, infrastructure and innovative products to attract international tourists to the Barossa wine region.
