Grass will be greener at Tanunda Bowling Club

The Barossa Council has approved a loan of $180,000 to Tanunda Bowling Club that will go towards the installation of two new synthetic greens.

The club will be funding $137,000 from their own cash reserves to go into a $317,000 greens replacement project.

Currently the club has a grass lawn, which has been earmarked for an upgrade, and a synthetic lawn, that has been
there for ten years and is past its use by date.

The club found that with the green keeper getting older and the money saved through not having a grass green, they decided it was cheaper to get both the greens redone.

“We had to replace this old synthetic lawn because it’s past its use by date. With the Council doing their redevelopment at Tanunda Recreation Park, we have spent some time talking with Jo Thomas and working with them. The plan is to have two brand new, state of the art synthetics, our aim is to hopefully have state events here,” said Bradley.

“It’s good that the Council are looking after us. They will be getting a better Council property and sporting venue through this.

When the motion was raised about the new greens,, it passed unanimously by Tanunda Bowling Club members.
