Dairy farmer honoured

Dairy farmer and founder of Jersey Fresh has been honoured posthumously by the Central Districts Shows Association.

The late Mr Jeff Kernich was recognised with a Legend Award at the CDSA’s annual presentation dinner and his family, including wife, Erica and children, Lisa Werner, Paula Menzel, Amy McDonald and Mark Kernich, accepted his medal and certificate from Association President, Ms Rosie Schultz.

Jeff’s name now appears on the CDSA “Legends Roll of Honour” board in appreciation of his “time, energy and commitment” as convenor and supporter of the Tanunda Show of which he was awarded a 20 year service award back in 2014.

Daughter, Lisa Werner said the family were honoured to accept the award which recognised individuals who made ongoing contributions to local shows.

“It is an award nominated by each show committee and we thank Debbie Miles [secretary of the Tanunda Show] for putting Jeff’s name forward,” she said.
