Getaways SA 2016 tourism winners

The team at Getaways SA were thrilled to be announced as this year’s winners of the Wine Industry Impact Awards Thursday night, at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide.

The first-time entrants took home gold in the WISA Tourism Category after judges deemed the Tanunda-based business to be fiercely competitive.

The family owned and operated group were commended on their tourism operations that demonstrated a strong focus and commitment in partnering with complementary tourism providers and wine producers.

“Getaways SA are customer focused and have a clear sense of who they are and who they are targeting with great collaboration with their regional operators,” Mr Lyndon Hollis, judge said.

“This has a halo effect in the region in which they operate, encouraging other operators to develop similar experiences,” he said.

The awards were based on presented nominations across six categories including grape growing, wine making, packaging, distribution and logistics, marketing and communication and tourism.

Getaways SA owners, Kym and Steve Brown, were elated to receive the national award and will display the handmade glass prize in the office surrounded by another 48 tourism distinctions.
