Kapunda Hospital Sterilisation Unit update

The Eudunda/Kapunda Health Advisory Council are monitoring the steps of a twelve month trial being conducted at Kapunda Hospital in regards to sterilisation.

The trial comes after the announcement in early 2014, that Country Health SA planned to transfer the Kapunda Hospital’s Sterilisation Unit to Angaston and District Hospital, creating a “Hub and Spoke” system between the hospitals.

In a written statement to The Leader last week, Ms Judy Milde, Vice President of the Eudunda/Kapunda Health Advisory Council, said a deputation had met with the Minister for Health and Ageing.

“A small group comprising Health Advisory Council Presiding Officer, Monica Davies, Dan van Holst Pellekaan, Des Ellis, Mayor Bill O’Brien, Dr. Lecons and Councillor Deane Rohrlach met and, as a result, a deputation met with Minister Jack Snelling,” said Ms Milde.
