Preserving the Barossa’s food culture

After three years of preparation, the Barons of the Barossa launched their Learning Resources Package at Tasting Australia. The educational videos are about traditional Barossa recipes cooked by settlers.

A package containing a USB with all six videos, each of the recipes and the history of the project was presented by the Barons to 11 representatives, each from different schools of the region. Within the next few weeks the Barons will present the educational folder to each of the Lutheran based school of the Barossa.

Within the package is a series of six videos, ten minutes in length which feature Mr Mark McNamara, of Appellation and Mr Callum Hann, runner up of Master Chief Australia 2010. Each video demonstrates the techniques and recipes involved in cooking historical Barossa foods, which were originally cooked by the settlers of the region.
