Keightley shop sells for over $500,000

Keightley shop sells for over $500,000

Keightley Jewellers, a historic Angaston site, was sold for over $500,000 after it went under the hammer on May 14.

The new owner of the historic property was auctioned to a Barossa local who doesn’t wish to be named.

When Gail Hollis, Homburg Real Estate, talked about the auction on the weekend. She said, “There was a good, strong crowd with a number of bidders. It went under the hammer, which is always a good thing.”

Formerly the Keightley Watchmaker and Jeweller’s shop in Angaston’s main street, the property has been under ownership of the Keightley family for 104 years.

The previous owner, Mr Graham Keightley, had lived in the house for his whole life.
