Rave reviews for film duo

Kimberley Henderson and Jasmine Fechner-Lante, both from Nuriootpa, won best film in the senior category at Gawler Youth Film Festival 2016.

The pair were friends at Nuriootpa High School and share a love of film. Their creation was a psychological thriller that took the top spot in their category.

Jasmine said, “It was worth it – if we won we got $250 dollars, if we didn’t then we made a film. We were always into the same sort of thing, we watched the same movies and talked about them together.

“The prize money will help us with the next film we make… I think we want to enter a few more short film competitions.

“I think we are both looking at going to MAPS Film School in Adelaide to further us along in the area.”

Kimberley said that they felt incredibly motivated to make more film content after winning the award, also adding that the money will be going towards improving their equipment for their next film.

The film sites included Kimberley’s own house and a park in Nuriootpa that are featured in different scenes.
