Generosity continues

The community continues to show their support of those affected by the Pinery Fires through generous donations.

John and Joy Thorpe, owners of the Gawler Cinema, have been involved in a number of efforts.

They raised $2,655 in just two weeks from the Seniors Silver Screening’s to donate to the Roseworthy CFS through the Country Fire Service Foundation (CFS Foundation).

“I don’t think we’d function without the CFS,” John said.

Ms Elizabeth Davis, Executive Officer of the CFS Foundation said that the money donated to them goes straight to CFS volunteers and their families who need support.

Roseworthy, along with the other brigades in the region, were instrumental during the Pinery and Sampson flat fires.

Mr Darryl Francis, Captain of the Roseworthy CFS was grateful to be accepting the money on behalf of the brigade.

“It was amazing that those in the community that weren’t directly affected have come forward and donated money,” he said.
