Tanunda Town Band back-to-back SA Champions

Tanunda Town Band competed in the recent SA Band Association State Championships at Hahndorf, and the results are in: 2014 Champion A-Grade Brass Band!

Competing in a three-way competition, the Barossa Valley’s own A-Grade brass band came away with the coveted Champion’s Shield, narrowly victorious over K&N Brass and Marion City Band.

In an unusual turn of events, the champions were initially announced as K&N Brass. However, upon examination of the scores an administrative error came to light. Upon consultation with the adjudicator the SA Band Association revised the results and TTB came away with the win.

For their own-choice major work, Tanunda played Philip Sparke’s “Dances & Alleluias” and scored 98 out of a possible 100 points, with the hymn selection O Magnum Mysterium scoring 47/50.
