Health Foundation fundraiser walk in memory of Courtney

The annual Walk for Gawler Health later this month will have a distinct red lip theme to it in a tribute to Gawler Health
Service nurse, Courtney Dijksman who died in a car crash last year.

The Red Lips Walk in Memory of Courtney will raise funds for the creation and installation of a mosaic memorial at the Gawler Health Service.

Courtney’s mum, Janet said she was overwhelmed by the initiative and
encouraged others to get behind the cause.

“We didn’t know they were going to do this,” said Janet.

“When the accident happened they said they wanted to do a memorial for her – first it was a bench and then they decided to do a mosaic and the walk in her memory.

“We are very humbled they thought of Courtney.”

The annual Walk for Gawler Health will be held on October 26. Participants of the Red Lips Walk in Memory of Courtney will pay an entry fee to be part of the 5 kilometre, 7.5 kilometre or 10 kilometre walk.

Pre-registration is encouraged. The event leaves the Gawler Health Service at 9.30 a.m. travelling to
Clonlea Park and concluding at the Gawler Health Service.

Janet said she and husband Mario have been really proud to learn of their daughter’s positive impact on people’s lives.
