Love Your Neighbour Community Project benefits locals

The team at Barossa Budget Backyards are looking for enthusiastic members of the community and businesses to assist them with their Love Your Neighbour Community Projects.

Mr Orlando Trujillo and his wife, Nerida, have recently completed their first garden project and have transformed a dull front yard into an attractive space for owner and Kapunda resident, Ms Belinda Nicol.

Belinda was overwhelmed with the voluntary transformation of her garden into a space to enjoy, which took Orlando seven days to complete.

“It was really amazing to see the garden looking so lovely,” said Belinda.

“My kids were absolutely thrilled to see it and it has had a very positive impact on our family.

“It has really made the house ours and we now have a beautiful place to sit outside and enjoy.”

Orlando and Nerida began their business, Barossa Budget Backyards, in 2013 and have been working with clients to improve home gardens across the region.

As passionate and involved members of the community, they decided they wanted to give back and came up with the Love Your Neighbour Community Project initiative.

This initiative involves the garden and yard transformations of local residents who may be facing some life challenges and will benefit from the makeover to their property.

The transformation is free for the resident in need and relies on the time and labour of Orlando and Nerida, volunteers throughout the community and donations of supplies from local businesses.
