Celebrating the life of Doug Lehmann

Around 2000 guests celebrated the life of the late Mr Doug Lehmann at Peter Lehmann Wines on July
4.

Guests shared stories of a man that they had known to be full of energy and humour.

He was described as being a family man, fundraiser, car fanatic, winemaker, larrikin and as a generous and kind man with a big heart.

“Doug would have been impressed with the turnout,” said CEO of Peter Lehmann Wines, Mr Jeff Bond.

“He was full of warmth and generosity and he had an enormous sense of family and community.

“We can all look back upon memories of Doug so fondly and smile because that’s the sort of impact that he had on people.

“When we started organising this event, we decided to celebrate his life because that is exactly what he would have wanted.”

An assortment of Variety Bash cars were displayed, along with Doug’s own car and Variety Bash participants paid their
respects.

After the speeches had been made family, friends and colleagues stayed on to enjoy good food, wine and memories of Doug.

“The loss of Doug has taken a big cog out of the wheel,” said Mr Kym Scutter who came to know Doug through the Variety Bash.

“He truly is an irreplaceable man.

“The Barossa Valley has lost a piece of its heart this week.”
