High praise for Barossa Fringe support

The region has been praised for their response to the inaugural Barossa Fringe, cementing the concept into next year’s events programme.

Barossa Regional Tourism manager, Ms Cathy Wills said she was really pleased with the support from venues and people attending these events.

“Locally, the community really opened their arms to it… because we were bringing Fringe events to their doorstep,” said Ms Wills.

More than 30 events were part of the local programme this year, exceeding expectations and demonstrating what can be achieved with a collaborative approach.

“We will be reviewing the whole thing soon and taking feedback from the Fringe… we have heard they were pleased with the Barossa contribution and would love to see it in the Barossa again,” said Ms Wills.

Ms Wills said it was very ambitious to take on the event but the region pulled off something really noteworthy.

She acknowledged the effort by venues in taking a risk and those who supported them by attending the events.

Venues and tourism staff will meet this month to reflect on the event
