Regional initiative gains momentum

A cross section of the region’s food, wine and tourism operators have been given an insight into the application process as they work towards potentially
being awarded a Barossa Trust Mark licence.

The Barossa Trust Mark is an aspirational standard set by the
Barossa region and showcased to the world.

More than 20 people gathered at Seppeltsfield Winery on Wednesday to receive an update from Barossa Grape and Wine Association’s CEO, Mr James March and direct
questions to Professor Jane James, president of the Barossa Trust Mark adjudication panel.

Mr March said it was an exciting day for the Trust Mark programme as they encourage local businesses to consider the application process.

“We wanted to ensure this was as transparent and straightforward a process as possible… and for it not to be seen as a compliance system being imposed on people, rather they are invited to apply to be part of the new promotional platform,” said Mr March.
