Barossa Nursery is best in Australia

In the world of garden centres, there is no greater recognition than that achieved by Barossa Nursery last week.

The Nuriootpa based family-owned business won Australia’s Best Group Nursery at the Nursery and Garden Industry Inc. (NGIA) Awards of Excellence 2014, for its dedication to the local community and extensive knowledge of greenlife.

Mr Daniel Bartsch accepted the award during a gala dinner overlooking the Sydney harbour last Thursday.

“It’s the ultimate award, this is the top of the tree!” he said describing the excitement of hearing Barossa Nursery’s name announced before being invited on stage to accept the prestigious trophy.

He thanked his parents and staff and took the opportunity to promote the Barossa to all those in attendance.

“I made a comment like Barossa’s famous for it’s great red wines and now our nursery too…. I can’t remember the exact words, but it sounded pretty good at the time!” he said with a laugh.

Meanwhile, a very anxious Erica Bartsch was back at home with husband, Kevin, waiting on news from their son.

“I felt nervous all day and was completely overjoyed when Daniel text messaged, ‘We Won!’ I ran into the lounge and yelled ‘Kevin, Kevin we won’ then I just started to cry,” said  Erica.
