Mount Pleasant Men’s Shed lends a hand

Mount Pleasant Men’s Shed has come to the rescue of Ms Cheryl Johnson and her beloved animals after last month’s fire burnt through her Sanderston property.

A team of four men rebuilt 20 metres of fencing to keep her dogs from running free and also built a 3 x 6 metre horse shelter for her two horses.

“It’s given me back hope. It really has. I couldn’t have done it by myself. To be able to put my horses back where they’re happy. It means a lot to me,” said a very thankful Cheryl when the work was completed last week.

“Basically, I lost everything that wasn’t in the house. All the horse stuff, all the horse feed, chainsaws… everything that was in the shed that was burnt down,” said Cheryl reliving that harrowing Friday when she was forced to flee her 20 acre property and leave her horses behind.”
