It’s a bird, it’s a plane… no, it’s a Skywhale

Not even the weatherman could forecast the sight that swept across Barossa skies yesterday morning.

A giant Skywhale balloon took flight from Seppeltsfield just before 7 a.m., attracting a crowd of onlookers to the unusual sight.

The Skywhale is a feature of an exhibition at the Art Gallery of SA, and was taken on a test-flight before the Adelaide opening on Saturday.

Tailed by a balloon from Nuriootpa’s Balloon Adventures, the sight had onlookers queued along a paddock at Seppeltsfield and in a convoy to follow the action.
