Changing industry keeps Diana in the Barossa

As all eyes turn to next week’s Santos Tour Down Under, Bethany’s Diana Phibbs is preparing local participants for the Bupa Challenge.

And the early Saturday morning starts have become part and parcel with the training as 30 locals prepare for the challenge, which finishes at Victor Harbor in the stage five route on Friday.

“It is scary to make the first steps, riding in groups with traffic and lots of people,’ said Diana.

“But when you cross the line, half the people are in tears because you feel a great sense of accomplishment.”

Diana said participating in the event, is at the end of the day, about enjoying yourself and she too will join the team for the challenge.
