Region calls for a McDonald’s

Employment opportunities coupled with a choice for families and shift workers were among the reasons why people supported a fast food outlet in the Barossa.

The Leader fast food online survey attracted overwhelming support, 80 per cent, for a fast food outlet in the Barossa with 68.83 per cent welcoming the idea of a McDonald’s.

Hungry Jack’s, who were rumoured to take the place that will be vacated by Red Rooster next week, came in as the second option followed by KFC, Noodle Box and Barnacle Bill.

As to where a fast food outlet would be best positioned, survey results recommended Nuriootpa or on the Sturt Highway.

Of the 303 people who participated in the survey, 36.30 per cent were from Nuriootpa and close to 100 people surveyed were in the 30-39 age group.
