Lack of funding forces programme closure

A decline in funding has forced the closure of a youth mentoring programme designed to assist the region’s youth.

Lutheran Community Care has delivered the programme from the Father’s Farm property in Tanunda for disengaged young people since July, 2010.

With the assistance of 31 volunteers, 56 young people have gone through the programme with the waiting list of 14 continuing to grow.

Lutheran Community Care Barossa manager, Ms Louise Mather said the organisation has been able to fund the programme for the remainder of the year due to community support.
