Talks of Kapunda Hospital sanitation unit closure

Country Health SA has confirmed they are exploring the possibility of closing down the sterilisation unit at Kapunda Hospital to provide services at Angaston Hospital.

Ms Debbie Martin, Barossa, Hills and Fleurieu Regional Director for Country Health SA, confirmed services had been recently relocated from Mt. Pleasant Hospital to Angaston & District Hospital and they’re looking to do the same with Kapunda.

“Country Health SA is now exploring whether sterilisation services for Kapunda can be provided at Angaston to avoid duplication,” Ms Martin said.

“A local working party will be established to explore these options to ensure the best outcome is reached that supports the continued provision of high-quality surgical services at Kapunda Hospital.”
