Fire destroys hay shed

Four hundred bales of hay and lucerne in a storage shed have been destroyed by fire, which police believe to be suspicious.

Crews were called to Templers Road, Freeling on Friday night just before 9 p.m. to discover a hay shed “well alight”.

They watched the 30m x 25m shed go up in flames but worked hard to control the spread of fire and protect nearby assets.

At this stage overall damage is estimated at $135,000.

Property owner, Mr Gavin Schuster said it was disappointing to see the hay and shed destroyed.
