Angas Park to shut shop

Angas Park Fruit Company will close their Angaston retail store at the end of the year, ending a 102-year association with the Barossa.

The company’s lease on the property ends in about three months and general manager, Mr Peter Manning said it would not be renewed, nor the shop relocated.

Five permanent employees will be made redundant and casual staff left without a job.

The announcement comes just two months after the production facility closed its doors, leaving about 60 permanent employees jobless throughout the process.

Retail staff had continued to promote the brand and the shop’s presence in the town following the closure of the production facility.
